SamCart Introduction

In 2013, Brian and Scott Moran founded SamCart as a web-based checkout platform engineered to take full advantage of sales and profits. It has grown into a leading platform in the shopping cart industry. Check out this review to get a clearer insight on the features, as well as the pros and cons of using SamCart.

Accepting Payments

Upon initial use of the software, SamCart will require setting up a payment processor. It is shocking to see that only two payment methods are available, and these two are PayPal and Stripe. Although these two are the most commonly used methods, it is still surprising that payment gateways like Skrill, Braintree, and Authorize.net are not included as options. When it comes to mobile payments and cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin, it is quite disappointing to know that SamCart has not yet integrated these, unlike other cart options. These would be a welcome addition in the future as cryptocurrency has taken a giant leap since its inception.

Design and Customization

SamCart Templates

Any prospect can leave at the very last minute, and having an awful checkout experience can easily dictate that. It is highly essential to note that SamCart offers a variety of checkout templates to choose from. The template library provides a multitude of options for product pages. SamCart won’t require any coding, and with the help of the drag and drop page builder, the customization and design options can help just about any seller, even without prior experience.

The available templates in SamCart are designed professionally and have been used by proven marketers. Some people love the fact that they don’t need to waste hours just to design and test their pages. These templates showcase trust elements such as guarantees, testimonials, and security reassurances, which can provide clients with peace of mind and boost conversions. It’s also good to know that the mobile responsive feature is available on all of the pages. This has become a critical requirement due to the growing trend of mobile users all over the world. Not having a mobile responsive checkout page can be a deal-breaker.

A/B Testing

SamCart can run live split tests. This is an amazing feature when you talk about shopping carts. SamCart also allows sellers to change settings to test any variation. After creating my variations, I tested it and just waited for the results to roll in. By simply checking the “AB Test” section, I can easily check how the variations are holding up. The benefit of this is that SamCart will help you find a winning variation to disable the loser. There’s one thing that cannot be split-tested, and that is the price of the product.

SamCart Pricing

SamCart Pricing

When it comes to pricing, SamCart offers three different plans. They are labeled as: ‘Launch,’ ‘Grow,’ and ‘Scale.’ The ‘Launch’ plan is priced at $49 per month. It provides the most basic features. The ‘Grow’ plan, which is indicated on their website as the most popular one, comes at a $99 per month rate. The most complete and expensive is the ‘Scale’ plan, priced at $199 per month. Understandably, the plans offered by Samcart might seem higher than the competition in the market today, but it’s still a popular choice even by established companies.

The Verdict

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

SamCart provides top-notch features with proven design, customization, and testing options. However, the lack of payment methods and pricing might seem to turn off potential business owners. Nevertheless, I would still recommend SamCart to anyone who wants to utilize a trusted and reputable name in the shopping cart industry.
